Orsa is a tracker for people living with POTS and dysautonomia: a repeatable at-home standing heart-rate test, a symptom and trigger diary, fluid and salt goals, and a doctor export. Everything stays on your phone.
Frequently asked questions
How does the stand test work?
Start a test, lie down and rest while Orsa times the baseline period, then stand when prompted. Orsa records your heart rate at 1, 3, 5 and 10 minutes of standing and draws the test against your resting baseline and the commonly cited +30 bpm reference line (+40 for teens). Each test is saved, so the trend builds test by test. Orsa shows your own readings against these reference lines for information only; it never diagnoses.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. With an Apple Watch, heart-rate readings stream in on their own through HealthKit during the test. Without one, Orsa prompts you at each mark and you type the value from any heart-rate monitor, or from taking your own pulse. Both kinds of test are saved and charted the same way.
How do I export a report for my doctor?
Open the Trends tab and choose Export. Orsa Pro builds a PDF report and CSV files covering your stand tests, symptoms, fluid and salt intake and episodes. The files are generated on your phone and go wherever you send them from the share sheet.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings inside Orsa and tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the same Apple Account you bought Pro with. Purchases are handled by the App Store, so they follow your Apple Account onto any new phone.
What does the teen setting change?
Adolescent guidance commonly cites a +40 bpm sustained rise rather than the +30 bpm used for adults. Turning on the teen setting draws the +40 line on your charts instead of +30. It changes only the reference line that is drawn; your readings themselves are never altered.
Where is my data stored?
On your phone, and only there. There is no account and no server, and HealthKit access is read only and optional. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
